Vladislav Kouroedov and Terry Denike added to Rockhoppers coaching staff

The Jersey Rockhoppers of the Eastern Professional Hockey League (EPHL) have announced two new additions to the coaching staff for the upcoming 2008-2009 season.

Vladislav Kouroedov will serve as an Assistant Coach with the team.  Kouroedov played junior hockey in the Russian Junior League before turning professional. After playing for the Spartak Moscow team in the Russian Professional Elite League, he came to the United States to play 4 years of Pro Hockey for the Knoxville Speed in the United Hockey League.  Kouroedov has coached several travel hockey programs over the last five years including Junior A, Jersey Penguins AA/A/B, and Huskies AAA Elite. He will continue his commitment with the youth Jersey Penguins program while aiding the Rockhoppers in practices and home games. “Vladislav will be concentrating his efforts in individual skill development and power skating for the Rockhopper players and be involved in the day to day hockey operations,” said Head Coach Brian Gratz. “He is a welcomed addition to the team and I am sure the players will benefit tremendously from his experience and expertise.”

Terry Denike will serve as the Rockhoppers Goaltending Coach. Denike, a former Los Angeles Kings draft pick from 2001, played 5 professional seasons from 2003 to 2008 in the SPHL, CHL and ECHL. The 27 year old Burlington, Ontario native has received many accolades over his playing career including multiple Goaltender of the Week and Month awards in the ECHL. “Terry is a welcomed addition to the coaching staff. He is a very knowledgeable person who will provide excellent feedback for the development of our goaltenders,” said Head Coach Brian Gratz. “I am very excited to be a part of the Rockhoppers organization and I look forward to the task of building a winning team, beginning with solid goaltending,” remarked Terry Denike. Terry will be in attendance at the Rockhoppers first open tryout this upcoming August 15-17 to evaluate potential goaltenders for the team.
